ANID Christina

Born in Beirut, Christina Anid studied literature and English at the Sorbonne in Paris before settling in Athens. A journalist, photographer, and sometimes jewellery designer, Anid focuses on culture and the preservation of the environment. She has published reports on topics as varied as children weddings in Rajasthan (India), alternative therapies, and the people who disappeared during the Lebanese war. Her reports have been published in international news and travel magazines, such as L’Univers des Voyages and Elle Paris, as well as in environmental and cultural websites.

During the past ten years, Anid amassed a considerable archive of photographs collected in more than twenty-five countries and started using them to create collages. In her colourful compositions, violence and sadness are always matched with a poetic spirit and a touch of humour.

In 2010, Anid exhibited her photocollages in Mumbai, India, where she was awarded the Prize of the Public in the exhibition The Art Conspiracy.
