Issam Barhouch is an architect living and working in Beirut, Lebanon, where he studied at the Académie Libanaise des Beaux-Arts. He is currently a faculty member in the architecture school of the Lebanese American University.


In 2010, Barhouch started collaborating with artist Zena Assi on installations related to the history of the city of Beirut, such as a project involving a house of cards as a metaphor for the Lebanese capital, and the installation above: Beirut One by One.


Barhouch is the architect manager of Faqra Club. He has won many prizes, such as the 2nd Prize in Swarovski’s Tile with Crystal competition on in 2006, was a finalist in BLC Bank’s Landmark 2 competition in 2011, and was shortlisted for several architectural projects in Lebanon and abroad. His work has been featured in many architecture magazines such as wallpaper.
